Core expectations
Be respectful, do not deliberately disrupt other people's study spaces, and do not use Kotsumi to harm, deceive, exploit, or intimidate others.
Content and behavior that are not allowed
- harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, stalking, or coordinated abuse;
- hateful or dehumanizing content targeting protected characteristics;
- sexual exploitation, sexual content involving minors, grooming, or non-consensual sexual content;
- credible threats of violence, graphic violence intended to shock, or encouragement of serious harm;
- encouraging or glorifying self-harm in a way that creates a safety risk;
- sharing another person's private or identifying information without permission;
- impersonation, scams, fraud, phishing, spam, or deceptive behavior;
- malware, attempts to compromise accounts or the service, or instructions intended to bypass Kotsumi safety systems;
- repeatedly evading blocks, bans, posting restrictions, or moderation actions.
Automated safeguards
Kotsumi applies English/Turkish text safety checks and enforces moderation sanctions on its servers. Photos are checked by OpenAI before publication after your separate permission. A rejected photo or a check that cannot complete is not published; you can contact support to request human review. Automated safeguards reduce obvious abuse but do not replace human review, and they may not detect every harmful situation.
Reporting
You can report supported messages, announcements, rooms, profiles, accepted Room Challenge evidence, Study Update posts and comments, and shared planner content from inside the app. Report categories include harassment, hate, sexual content, violence, spam, impersonation, privacy, and other concerns. Reports are sent for moderation review. We prioritize safety reports according to severity and risk. Review time depends on the nature of the report and the investigation required.
Blocking
You can block another account from within Kotsumi. Blocking hides existing and future content in both directions where the feature applies, prevents profile access and future interaction, and can be undone only by the person who created the block.
Moderation actions
Depending on severity, context, history, and risk, actions may include content removal, room bans, 24-hour, 7-day, 30-day, or permanent posting restrictions, feature restrictions, or account suspension. Serious safety threats may result in immediate action.
Room owners and moderators
Room owners and authorized moderators may manage room access, remove members, ban members, manage announcements and sessions, create and review Room Challenges, softly hide room content, and control room features. Room-level moderation does not replace Kotsumi-wide Community Standards.
Appeals and support
If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, contact info@kotsumi.com with enough information to identify the relevant account, report, or event. Do not send passwords, private keys, or unnecessary private information.
Immediate danger
Kotsumi is not an emergency service. If you or another person is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service or a trusted person who can provide immediate help.
