Terms of Use — Kotsumi

Using Kotsumi

You may use Kotsumi only in compliance with these Terms, the Community Standards, applicable law, and the rules of the platform through which you obtained the app. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for keeping access to your account secure.

Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old and legally permitted to use the service and provide the information needed to create an account. Any higher age or parental authorization requirements imposed by applicable law also apply. If you cannot meet them, you may not use Kotsumi. Do not create an account using another person's identity or credentials without authorization. We may require reasonable reauthentication for sensitive account actions such as deletion.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you create. By submitting content to Kotsumi, you give Sticker Mori LLC a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, display, format, and process that content only as needed to operate, secure, and moderate the features you choose to use. This license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except where limited retention is reasonably required for safety, legal, backup, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Privacy and permissions

The Privacy Policy explains data processing; accepting these Terms is not a blanket consent to optional processing. Photo checking requires separate permission before a photo is sent to the provider; declining prevents that photo from being published but does not prevent use of other account features.

Community features

Rooms, chat, profiles, announcements, reactions, mentions, Room Challenges and their submitted evidence, Study Update posts and comments, and shared planner content are user-generated spaces. You must follow the Community Standards. Room owners and moderators may manage access to their rooms, but Sticker Mori LLC may take service-wide action when necessary to protect Kotsumi or its users.

Kotsu Coins and digital items

Kotsu Coins are an in-service, earned virtual balance used for Kotsumi catalog features. In Kotsumi v1 they are not sold for real money, are not legal tender, are not redeemable for cash, and may not be transferred outside the features Kotsumi explicitly provides. Catalog items are licensed for use within Kotsumi and do not give you ownership of underlying intellectual property. We may correct balances or ownership records affected by bugs, abuse, duplicate transactions, or invalid activity.

Acceptable use and enforcement

You may not interfere with the service, probe or bypass security controls, automate abusive access, exploit bugs for unfair gain, impersonate others, or use Kotsumi for unlawful or prohibited conduct. We may restrict content or access when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, the Community Standards, legal obligations, or service security.

Account deletion and termination

You may delete your account from the app. We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated violations, security threats, fraud, legal requirements, or conduct that materially harms Kotsumi or other users. Account deletion is described in the Account Deletion page and Privacy Policy.

Service availability

Kotsumi may change, add, remove, or temporarily interrupt features. We work to keep the service reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may depend on Apple services, internet connectivity, Supabase, notifications, or other infrastructure outside our direct control.

Intellectual property

Kotsumi's software, branding, visual assets, Study Icons, catalog assets, and other materials provided by Sticker Mori LLC are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of Kotsumi intellectual property.

Apple App Store

If you downloaded Kotsumi from Apple's App Store, your use of the licensed iOS application is also subject to applicable Apple App Store terms and any Apple standard end-user license terms that apply. Apple is not responsible for providing Kotsumi support; support is provided by Sticker Mori LLC at info@kotsumi.com.

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Kotsumi is provided on an “as available” basis. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded. Sticker Mori LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses where exclusion is permitted by law.

Governing terms and changes

These Terms are governed by applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. We may update these Terms when the service or legal requirements change. Continued use after an update takes effect means the updated Terms apply, except where law requires another form of consent.
